An online poll of job hunters on www.irelandHiring.com, Ireland\'s Premier Career Network, indicated a massive 72% of all respondents would favour recruitment websites over all other sources of new jobs.

www.irelandHiring.com recently conducted a poll amongst its users that indicated a clear preference for sourcing a new job through recruitment websites over other options.

Users were asked to respond to the question, “Where would you look for a new job?”

Five possible options were provided and the results are indicated against each.



From an analysis of the results job hunters prefer to view and source jobs through recruitment websites (72%) over using recruitment agencies (19%), newspapers (6%), friends and contacts (3%) and contacting employers directly (0%).

It appears that ease of use and ease of access together with greater familiarity with the Internet and the many additional resources provided by recruitment websites make them the location of preference for job hunting.

Recruitment agencies continue to be a strong contact source for job hunters followed by newspapers and friends and contacts. Interestingly, none of the respondents would see contacting an employer directly as an option.
